Site Description

The Lodge at Troy consists of a 5800 sq. ft. Guest House with just about all the ammenities you can imagine. The Guest House is surrounded by 70 acres of Old Wood Pecan Orchard and Wildlife Area smack-dab in the middle of rural southeast Alabama.

Only 10 minutes to Troy, 30 minutes to Dothan, 45 minutes to Montgomery, and less than 3 hours on US-231 to Panama City Beach on the Gulf Coast by car makes The Lodge at Troy the ideal spot for peaceful seclusion in the midst of Southern adventure.

Old Wood Pecan Orchard

Our Old Wood Pecan Orchard spreads for 40 acres around the Lodge.

This is an active pecan orchard that we harvest in November each year. Guests staying with us during the months of October and November are welcome to help themselves to all the pecans they care to enjoy.

Who can resist fresh southern style pecan pie?

Besides the fresh pecans, another enjoyable benefit of our Old Wood Pecan Orchard is the preponderance of woodpeckers, humingbirds, and other feathered friends that call The Lodge at Troy home.

Wildlife Area

Our Wildlife Area, 20 acres of swamp and wetlands located on the "back side" of the property, is home to a veritable Noah's Arc of wildlife: turkey, deer, beaver, and even a bobcat or two to name a few of our animal residents.

From our 2nd floor Sun Room guests have reported seeing turkey in the back of the Pecan Orchard in the early mornings.

Deer have been known to help themselves to the fruit on our pear trees near the swimming pool during the summer evening hours.

Whitewater Creek

The southern edge of the property is bordered by Whitewater Creek which feeds our Wildlife Area swamp. A fishing and picnic area is situated near the "old fishin' hole" for your relaxation and convenience. If you look carefully for them, you may even see the remains of the pilings from the old bridge that was used by the stagecoach that ran between Banks and Brundidge.
